Este fin de semana mi familia americana me ha llevado a pasar el fin de semana en Nueva York!!!.
Salimos de South Burlington por la tarde, sobre las 5, y llegamos a casa de sus primas en Clifton Park sobre las 8, donde pasamos la noche. Su familia fue muy amable y acogedora conmigo, cosa que agradecí enormemente. A la mañana siguiente, nos preparamos y nos fuimos pronto por la mañana porque todavía nos quedaban 2 horas hasta llegar a Nueva York. En cuanto llegamos me di cuenta de que era muy distinta de cualquier ciudad que hubiese visitado anteriormente. Todo era mucho más grande, la gente iba estresada y en general, me dio la sensación de que era una ciudad gris, un gran cambio comparado con Vermont, donde puedes ver arboles por todas partes (algo que personalmente me encanta). Igual por eso mi parte preferida de la ciudad ha sido sin duda Central Park. El primer lugar que visitamos fue el Empire State Building, desde el cual las vistas eran increíbles. Luego fuimos a la Grand Central Terminal, a la catedral de San Patricio y al Rockefeller Center. Mientras caminabamos de un sitio para otro me encontré con Laura Montero, algo muy raro, puesto que Nueva York es una ciudad muy grande y no era para nada probable que nos viésemos allí. Me sorprendió bastante que hubiera al menos un puesto de comida rápida en cada calle y que hubiese gente casándose en cada sitio al que íbamos. Lo siguiente que hicimos fue ir a Central Park, donde había personas tocando música y bailando. Más tarde fuimos a Times Square, porque resulta mucho más impresionante en la oscuridad. Esa noche dormimos en la casa de sus abuelos, puesto que esta a tan solo una hora de la ciudad de Nueva York. Pasamos toda la mañana del domingo en Staten Island, la isla de la Estatua de la Libertad. Sobre las 4 de la tarde, dejamos a una de sus primas en el aeropuerto y en ese trayecto vimos el Freedom Tour y atravesamos el puente de Brooklyn. Después, comenzamos la vuelta a casa, que se alargo debido a las paradas en la casa de sus abuelos y en la de sus primas. Asi que cuando llegamos por fin a casa en South Burlington, me quedé dormida en cuanto mi cabeza tocó la almohada.

We left her South Burlington house at 5 pm and we arrived to her cousins house in Clifton Park more or less at 8 pm. We spent the night there. Their family was very nice and welcoming, which is something that I really appreciate. The next morning, we got ready and left the house early in the morning because there was still a 2 hour travel to New York City. Once we arrived, I realized that it was pretty different from any city I had been to before. Every thing was bigger, people were more stressed, and in general, I found that it was a grey city, a big contrast with Vermont, where you can see trees everywhere (something that I personally love). Maybe due to that, Central Park was my favourite part of the city. The first thing we visited was the Empire State Building, where there were incredible views. After, we went to Grand Central Terminal, the Saint Patrick's Cathedral and to the Rockerfeller Center. While walking to these places I saw Laura, something really weird because New York is a big city and it wasn't likely that we would see each other. I was surprised because at least there was a food stand in every street and everywhere we went someones was getting married. The next thing we did was go to Central Park, where people were playing music and dancing. Then we went to Times Square because it was more incredible in the darkness of the night. That night we slept in her grandparents house, which was only an hour away from New York City. The next day, we spent the whole morning at the Statue of Liberty island. At 4 pm we left her cousin in the airport and during the travel we saw the Freedom Tour and the Brooklyn bridge. After that we returned to Vermont but we stopped at her grandparents' house and at her cousins' house so it took us more time to arrive to Vermont. I was so tired that when my head touched the pillow I directly fell sleep.
